Gun Control
Written by “Thomas Paine,” with all due reference to Ann Coulter.
I never did understand ‘gun control,’ but I guess I understand ‘tight three shot grouping,’ or ‘using both hands.’
It never fails to amaze me how some people think that it’s the gun that kills people. Isn’t is pretty obvious that there must be a conscious human effort pulling the trigger? Restricting gun ownership makes about at much sense as restricting pencil ownership. Seriously, people - we could all kill each other with sharpened pencils if we worked hard enough. Yeah, I said it - feel unsafe at schools, children! There are pencils about! And no references to the difference in power need to be made: we all understand that yes, a gun makes it easier.
In the following article, conservative pundit Ann Coulter references a paroled felon (a pimp, by the way, just to give you a taste of what kind of person we’re dealing with here) named Mixon who shot down four cops in Oakland. This guy was a felon. He’s not ‘allowed’ to own guns. And yet somehow, he DOES! The consternation in the gun-banning camp must be tremendous. (“We said he couldn’t have that! Why did he have that?”) Thankfully, in a marvelous demonstration of why gun possession is a good thing, one of the four cops on the ground shot him before he could move on to kill, sell, and rape a few more people.
I consider this excellent proof that, once again, writing a law and filling a marble building with a great deal of hot air about how that law will work, does not prevent criminals from owning guns. No, folks, gun control laws only prevent law-abiding citizens from owning guns… or, for those who are particularly attatched and… what was the phrase… those bitter citizens “cling[ing] to guns or religion,” turning them into criminals as they hold on tight to their last little bit of personal protection.
In any case, enjoy the article.
